Privacy policy

Summary

Iron Rod keeps your reading on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We don't collect, sell or share your data, and there is no account to create.

What Iron Rod stores

Your reading progress, highlights, notes, bookmarks, earned time and settings are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, they also sync through your private iCloud database so they follow you to your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account, and we can't see into it.

Screen Time and blocked apps

Iron Rod uses Apple's Screen Time to lock the apps you choose until you've earned time. Apple gives Iron Rod a private token for each app you pick, not its name or how you use it, and those tokens stay on your device. Iron Rod never sends your app use anywhere.

No tracking

There is no advertising, analytics or tracking code in Iron Rod, and no third-party SDKs. We don't build a profile of you or follow you across other apps and websites.

Narration, links and sharing

When you play narration, the audio streams from Iron Rod's own audio server, run on Cloudflare. Like any website, it sees your device's internet address and which recording it sent; we don't use that to identify you. Study links open the Church's website or the Gospel Library app, where the Church's own privacy policy applies. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone, and a verse you share goes only where you send it.

Crash reports

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can turn this off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Iron Rod doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting your data

Deleting Iron Rod removes everything it stored on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy too, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, manage your storage, choose Iron Rod and delete its data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and the new version appears both in the app and at its web address.
